ho sentito il CD di Luca Formentini e volevo dire che è proprio bello e dotato di una notevole personalità, dico sul serio: un lavoro interessante a livello 'strumentale' (trattamento chitarre, etc.) ma anche sul piano emotivo, visto che riesce a trasmettere sensazioni visive e 'di anima' (un po' a disagio in questo pianeta? E come non esserlo...). 
Non si tratta di sola avanguardia (che a volte sento troppo lontana), c'è anche un sentimento, e a me queste cose piacciono.

"SUBTERRANEANS".....i remember asking luca for more of his music after hearing his work on the CT-COLLECTIVE ''philter phrenzy" cd.....that was a while ago.....it was well worth the wait.....i keep thinking that the title sums up luca's vision on this CD.....the sounds are deep/low, the feeling and color is deep/low.....there is an awful (full of awe) creepiness about this music, it never allows me to fully relax (this is a really good thing).....beautiful sounds,scary sounds, unguitar sounds, subtle yet lovely use of FX.....there may be even a loop or two here.....composition, percussion, found sound, fantastic recording chops.....it's a ton-o-tunes that i truely look forward to listening to many more times.....i have always thought that the "random" button on a cd player was one of the greatest inventions ever but i would not consider using it on this cd.....what a strangely lovely little story luca weaves here.....thanks again luca!.....michael

A marvellous amalgam of found sound, electronics and heavily processed guitar. 
A recording like this is all about the sense of space and place that it creates, and this one is so beautifully recorded and lovingly assembled to create a huge dynamic pulsating room for itself.
The range of sounds from pure ambient to more chords 'n' melody stuff works really well, the continuity being Luca's touch, which is evident throughout.

Luca is a guitar player who practices what he calls "unguitar". This is electric, acoustic and fretless guitars with real time processing. There are some additional sounds as well as field recordings and sampling going on, but for the most part, this the emphasis is on the solo guitar work. It's not a radical re-thinking of the guitar in the way that, say, Derek Bailey was 35 years ago, but it's skillfull and well played and an extremely enjoyable listen from someone who I had never encountered before. If you enjoyed Paolo Angeli's "Bucato", then I think I can strongly recommend this to you as well, even though it is quite different.

I wanted to say that this cd was well recieved in my ears. I'm allergic to 95% of guitar music because it's too redundant/obvious  & then boring to me.
But Luca Formentini have a clear sensibility not clouded by fashion in letting experimental guitar and soundings play. The high quality of the sound helps open the listener up to the different fields of expression he set forth in.  I prefer recordings that have nothing to do with trends and music reshash - I just want to go to places I've never been taken before. And this work fits the bill, nicely I may add.
